With an array of concentrates on the market, we pride ourselves in offering the cleanest form of concentrate- Hash Rosin to our customers. Compared to alternative methods using butane, Ethanol, or other substances, we utilize water, ice, and environmental factors to process our concentrates. Using ice and water, trichomes are frozen and fall off the flower, allowing us to collect, and further process the trichomes into clean, quality rosin.

Utilizing LowTemp’s original 75 Gallon “Osprey” washing machine we ensure the process to extract your rosin is done to maximize returns on your product. Some brief recommendations for ensuring your product is well suited and prepared for Hash Rosin Extraction:

-Ensure that when taking your flower down, it spends as little time as possible sitting around. We recommend flower needs to be frozen within 30 minutes of being taken down.

-Limit stems and fan leaves when putting product away. This can add chlorophyll to your rosin, and you will end up paying for the extra weight!

-Do not stuff your product into freezers/coolers. If you have to force it in anywhere, you are most likely damaging your product.

-Weigh and label your product! Know how much and what you harvested. We will also weigh every bag before we wash.

-Pick the right strains for washing. Some strains simply do not wash, and are better suited for other methods. Strains can wash for less than .5%, while others can do upwards of 7%.

We are happy to assist with ensuring that you and your product are ready for Hash Rosin Extraction. Further recommendations for pre and post harvest can be requested from us directly via phone, email, or Instagram.

Currently we only offer our services to medical patients and caregivers in Maine.

What is Hash Rosin?

Trichomes- the most important part of any type of cannabis product, are also the centerpiece of Rosin. Trichomes are the little white crystals you would see on your flower, and are what contains the majority of the cannabinoids and terpenes. Utilizing Ice water extraction, the stalks of trichomes get brittle, and snap under the agitation of a washing machine, in our case, The Osprey.

The trichome heads come in different sizes, with the most desirable being around the size of 90-120 microns. This would be your top shelf or tier one rosins. “Food Grade” and “Full Spectrum” rosin types utilize other types of head sizes, with food grade usually taking solely head sizes below 73 and above 160. Full spectrum, in our opinion, utilizes 45 through 160 micron sized trichome heads, with heads below or above we believe to have too much plant matter, or be too underdeveloped to be worth keeping. “Full Spectrum” Rosin types are usually still a good quality product, and offer the perks of more variety in the trichomes and cannabinoids in the product. Full Spectrum products are perfect for a cheaper smoke, compared to top shelf products.

Following agitation and collection, the hash still has a couple more steps to go before being ready. Bubble Hash is then put into freeze dryers, which can take a day to freeze and dry the product into a powder. The freeze dryers create a vacuum, pulling out moisture that is left over from the wash, and once complete, is collected, and then carefully pressed utilizing heat and a small hydraulic press. Once pressed, the product is ready to smoke, but can utilize further curing to improve the quality of the rosin.
